Daryl H.Gilbert, P. Eng, Director, Chairman of the Board, Reserves & Environment Committee Chair / Health,Safety & Environment Committee Chair

Mr.Gilbert graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

Mr.Gilbert is a professional petroleum engineer and is the former President and CEO of Gilbert Laustsen Jung Associates Ltd, now GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd..,a major independent petroleum evaluation consulting firm based in Calgary. After a 27 year career at GLJ, he retired from the professional consulting field in early 2005.

Mr. Gilbert is currently a Managing Director of JOG Capital Inc., a private equity energy investment management firm He also serves as a director of several energy related public entities including Penn West Energy Trust and AltaGas Income Trust.

Mr. Gilbert is currently a member of the Association of Petroleum Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers.

James B. Howe, Director, Audit Committee Chair / Member of the Corporate Governance Committee

Mr. Howe is a Chartered Accountant and has been the President of Bragg Creek Financial Consultants Ltd. since 1982.  Mr. Howe is a director of various public companies including Pason Systems Ltd., Ensign Energy Services Ltd., Wrangler West Energy Inc., Excelsior Energy Ltd., Bengal Energy Inc. and Holloway Lodging Real Estate Investment Trust. Mr. Howe has been Vice President, Finance of numerous publicly traded companies as well, including Canrise Resources Ltd., Bonavista Petroleum Ltd., Kintail Energy Inc., Nycan Energy Corp., and Kinloch Resources Inc.

Mr. Howe graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Administration in 1973.

Gregory G. Turnbull, Director, Corporate Governance Committee Chair / Member of the Compensation Committee

Mr. Turnbull has been a partner with the law firm of McCarthy Tétrault since July 2002 and currently serves as the Regional Managing Partner. Mr. Turnbull started his career with the law firm of MacKimmie Matthews in 1979. From 1987 - 2001, he was a partner with Gowlings LLP (formerly Code Hunter LLP). In 2001 and 2002, he became a partner with the law firm of Donahue LLP.

Mr. Turnbull is currently a director of Storm Exploration Inc., Heritage Oil Limited, Sunshine Oilsands Ltd., BNP Resources Inc., Action Energy Inc. and Flagship Energy Inc., all publicly-traded companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange or TSX Venture Exchange.  Throughout his career, Mr. Turnbull has served as an officer or director of Baytex Energy Ltd., Barrington Petroleum Ltd., Castle Rock Petroleum Ltd., Hawk Oil Inc., Hawk Energy Inc., Kensington Energy Ltd., Lexxor Energy Inc., Newquest Energy Inc., Mannville Oil & Gas Ltd., Petrostar Petroleums Inc., Pinnacle Resources Ltd., Quadron Resources Ltd., Quintex Energy Ltd., Rally Energy Ltd., ResoQuest Resources Ltd., Seventh Energy Ltd., Tri-Ex Oil & Gas Ltd., Trigas Exploration Ltd., Trimox Energy Inc., Twin Energy Ltd., and Westward Energy Inc.

Steven R. VanSickle, Director, Compensation Committee Chair / Member of the Audit Committee / Member of the Reserves and Environment Committee / Member of the Health,Safety & Environment Committee

Mr. VanSickle has an extensive background in the oil and gas industry both in Canada and internationally. Steven has been involved in exploration, production, strategic planning and portfolio management in the oil and gas industry for the past 23 years.

From 2005, Steven has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairborne Energy Ltd.  From 2002 - 2005, Mr. VanSickle was the Vice President, Exploration of Fairborne Energy Ltd.  From 1999 - 2002, Mr. VanSickle was part of the executive team which founded Canadian Midstream Services Ltd. and was Vice President, Business Development until the company was sold to Duke Energy Field Services in the spring of 2001.  Mr. VanSickle was the Vice President of Business Development for Duke Energy Field Services in Canada. 

Mr. VanSickle began his career as an exploration geologist with Amoco Canada in Calgary.  In 1992 -1993, Mr. VanSickle attended Amoco's Petrophysics training school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and in 1995 was transferred to Houston, where he held a variety of positions, including Exploration Coordinator, Trinidad and Exploration Manager, Angola.  In 1998, Mr. VanSickle joined Pan East Petroleum Corp. which was sold in November 1998.

Mr. VanSickle received his B.Sc. in Geology from McMaster University in 1986 and attended the Kellogg Executive Development Program in 1997.

Robert G. Peters, Director, Member of the Compensation Committee / Member of the Corporate Governance Committee

Mr. Peters is an independent businessman, and is currently the President of Black Diamond Land and Cattle Company, a private company with interests in real estate, ranching and energy investments.

From 1971 until his retirement from the firm in September, 2002, Mr. Peters was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Peters & Co. Limited, an investment leader headquartered in Calgary, Alberta specializing in energy investments. Mr. Peters is also involved in the real estate industry and is founder and partner in Peters-Dewald Land Company, a land development management company focused on creating value in residential real estate opportunities.  Mr. Peters is currently a director with Bellamont Exploration Ltd., GMP Capital Trust, Big Rock Brewery, TriStar Oil & Gas Ltd., and Breaker Energy Ltd,

Mr. Peters graduated from the University of Calgary in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.

Michael Wuetherick, P. Eng, President and Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Wuetherick is a P. Eng with 20 years of oil and gas experience.  The first half of Michael's career focused on operations, reservoir engineering, facilities construction and project management roles with Norcen and Suncor.

From 1997- 2000 Mr. Wuetherick focused on merger and acquisition evaluations for Rio Alto Exploration as Team Leader and Manager, Business Development.

From 2000 - 2003 Mr. Wuetherick was President and CEO of Capture Energy Ltd, a private company with 1,300 boe/d of production, sold in April 2003. From 2003 to June 2006, Mr. Wuetherick was the Chief Operating Officer of SignalEnergy. 

In the fall of 2006, Mr. Wuetherick joined 1276921 Alberta Ltd, a private company acquired by Seaview in October 2007.  Mr. Wuetherick has worked for Seaview since that time.

H. Scott Oldale, Vice President, Exploration and Chief Operating Officer and Director

Mr. Oldale is a geologist and has 28 years of oil and gas experience.  Mr. Oldale has been an officer and director of several junior oil and gas companies; including Stride Energy, Ketch Energy and Kintail Energy which were subsequently sold to larger entities.

Mr. Oldale has held various management positions as COO, VP Exploration and VP Business Development and has played a key role in the initiation and growth of these companies. Mr. Oldale also held management positions and senior technical roles with Northstar Energy from 1996 - 1998 and Sceptre Resources from 1989 -1996 and has worked as an exploration geologist for PetroCanada from 1982 - 1989. In the fall of 2006, Mr. Oldale joined 1276921 Alberta Ltd, a private company acquired by Seaview in October 2007.  Mr. Oldale has worked for Seaview since the acquisition in October 2007.

Bruce A. Francis, P. Eng. and Director, Member of the Health,Safety & Environment Committee / Member of the Reserves and Environment Committee

Mr. Francis is a P. Eng. with over 26 years diverse experience in the oil and gas industry and holds memberships in APEGGA and the SPE. He graduated from the University of Montana's College of Mineral Science and Technology with a B. Sc. in Petroleum Engineering in 1983, and also holds a Diploma, Petroleum Technology (Honors, 1980) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He is a Director of a number of resource companies, both private and public.

Mr. Francis most recently held the position of President at C3 Resources Ltd., a private oil and gas company which he co-founded in June, 2005. C3 was sold in July, 2008 to a Seaview Energy Inc. for approximately $39.0 million. From inception as a startup with no assets, C3 achieved production of 600 boe/d in a 3 year period primarily through full-cycle exploration and development.

Prior thereto, from January, 2001 to May, 2005, Mr. Francis was President of C2 Energy Inc., a private oil and gas company which he also co-founded. C2 grew production from nil to 225 boe/d while accumulating a significant land and prospect inventory in the Peace River Arch Area of Alberta through Spring, 2005. C2 was sold for in excess of $12.0 million into the public market at that time, capturing additional upside in the form of acquirer share purchase warrants. Between 1995 and November, 2000, Mr. Francis was President and Chief Operating Officer of Caravan Oil and Gas Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas company which he also co-founded. Caravan grew from a private energy startup with no assets in 1995 to a producer of over 1,900 boe/d prior to being acquired by an intermediate publicly traded oil and gas producer in November, 2000 for approximately $40.0 million.

Between 1992 and 1995, in a senior engineering capacity at Beau Canada Exploration Ltd., Mr. Francis directed a series of successful, aggressive, growth-oriented resource exploitation programs. Mr. Francis's early experience was gained through positions of increasing responsibility in both field and head office locations with Dome Petroleum Ltd. and Amoco Canada Petroleum Ltd.

Michael R. Culbert, President & CEO - Progress Energy Resources Corp., Director, Member of the Audit Committee

Mr. Culbert holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and has over 26 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry including a background in marketing, business development, and economics and planning. Mike has held senior managerial and executive positions with a number of Calgary, Alberta based companies.

He is currently President & CEO, Progress Energy Resources Corp., a mid-size energy company primarily focused on natural gas exploration, development and production in northwest Alberta and northeast British Columbia. Prior to his current position, Mr. Culbert was the President & CEO of Progress Energy Ltd., a sustainability focused energy trust and prior to that was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development of Progress Energy Ltd., which he and two partners recapitalized in November of 2001.  

Mr. Culbert is also well known in the North American capital markets as a result of his previous role as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development of Calgary based Encal Energy Ltd., a Canadian senior producer listed on both the Toronto and New York Exchanges.  Encal was recognized by investors as a company that achieved consistent and efficient growth for over a decade until its sale in April 2001 for $1.8 billion.
